CHANGING THE WAY PHOTOGRAPHERS SEE
How can a photographer capture something they can’t see?
As part of round two of Canon’s ongoing content series The Lab (see more here), we took a group of talented photographers to a restaurant renowned for its creative cuisine. And then we did something they didn’t expect.
We blindfolded them.
We then asked each of them to taste a complex, layered dish. And to capture an image of what they tasted—without ever seeing it.
The resulting images were stunning:
We captured their experience in a short, six minute content film. And used their inspiration to encourage more photographers to discover new creative directions.
This is one of my favourite films from the Lab series, because it wasn’t just thought provoking, it also led to some incredible results. By taking away the sense they rely on most, we showed these photographers the raw inspiration that can come from exploring beyond your immediate world.
